General condition and any additional information
She has a cradle (folding) in great conditions, the original smelly never used alcohol stove was replaced by convection burner. Main and Jib sails are original, as the fixed 3 blade propeller.
This is an absolutely excellent freshwater sailboat in fantastic condition with so many good years left! She is priced right to sell quickly.

A Ship in Harbor Is Safe, But that Is Not What Ships Are Built For ...
The Beneteau Oceanis 281 is a wonderful boat to use as a comfortable day sailer or cruiser, because it has many big boat features in a somewhat smaller hull.
I easily sail this boat on the Lake Ontario by myself or with one other person. With 63 headroom in the companionway, and 511 headroom in the salon. It fits two families for the day or 3-4 couples for a sunset cruise.
I have netting on the lifelines so that the kids can walk all around. it moves well in light breeze and I sometimes keep the jib furled so the kids can sit up front with their friends.
Conceived by Groupe Finot and Beneteau, this 28 footer completes the Oceanis diameter, recognized worldwide by those who enjoy all the qualities of an Oceanis: reliability, safety, performance under sail, easy handling, and as much luxury at sea as in seaport. In addition, the proven technical solutions in this diameter have been retained: solid body, glued and laminated structural inner body molding - providing a real frame - and a sandwich deck for insulation and rigidity.
Extra gear included
Extra equipment: Stainless steel Bruce Anchor + spare galvanized danforth anchor, 2 extra opening ports in main salon
Electrical/Electronics: 2 battery, battery charger 10 amp, LCD TV, 30 amp shore power cord, Raymarine Wind speed/direction, Raymarine boat speed, depth meter and water temperature and compass.
Improvements to the hull, deck, rigging, engine, or interior
The rigging on the Oceanis 281 includes swept stern spreaders for greater mast control, basic furling genoa, and semi-full battened main with lazy jacks cover and rapid reefing. In addition to easy handling and furling, this solution adds to the performance and safety of the Oceanis 281: the shape of the sail is more efficient than a furling sail, and the suppression of weight in the uppers contributes to the boats stability.
The main handling lines are led aft to the cockpit onto a winch to starboard. The cockpit also has a large safe to starboard and a door in the transom providing easy access to the bathing ladder and the basic cockpit shower. The U-shaped bar ensures maximum luxury for six around the large desk. Natural lighting comes from the fixed seaportlights either side of the body, and ventilation from the opening hatch in the coachroof and the opening seaportholes in the coaming.
The L-shaped galley to seaport with opening seaporthole just above a large icebox that can be converted to a refrigerator (option), cutlery drawer, sliding vegedesk basket. To starboard, the nav. station has a large blueprint desk with storage, bookshelf, and space reserved for electronics. The wet safe, close to the companionway steps, is located between the nav. station and the vast front room - molded in one piece - which has pressurized shower, wash tank, marina toilet, and numerous safes.
