The boat is currently in the water and ready to go. Sale includes use of the owners Dodsons Boatyard mooring and launch service in beautiful Stonington, CT harbor for the remainder of the 2019 season.
The boat has been used and enjoyed by the owner for several seasons. It is an easy boat to handle, an ideal size for a couple, and spacious enough for small family to enjoy some quality time on the water. Time has come for the owner to sell due to age and health reasons.
An 8 inflatable dinghy (2017) and a 2.3 hp outboard (2015) are not included in boat price, but are available for a separate sale to prospective buyers.
This boat is the popular tall rig / shoal draft wing keel which is great for both daysailing and cruising. Its draft is only 3-10 and displaces 10.300 lbs. with 4300 lbs. of ballast. With almost an 11 beam, it is very roomy for a 30 sailboat.
It has the standard Catalina 30 cabin arrangement with a v-berth and filler custion to form a large double berth forward with shelf storage and a custom built cabinet. Aft to port is the head compartment with vanity, stainless steel sink, pull-out shower faucet, mirrored storage cabinet, bulkhead mounted shelf / mirror and the head. Starboard side has has a large cabinet with drawers, a hanging locker and counter top. In the saloon, a roomy dinette has U-shaped sitting on the port side and a settee on the starboard side. Both sides have storage areas behind the cushions and some under one seat. The table top sets down to form a double berth. The galley has a double sink, range/oven and ice box which can be chilled with an Adler- Barbour 12V cold machine. Lots of shelf and drawer storage in the galley. Starboard aft is the navigation desk, electrical panel and a double quarter berth.
It has CD sails (2002) including full batton mainsail, 135% genoa on manual Harken Series 1-338 roller furler, cruising spinnaker, manual boom vang, backstay tension adjuster, genoa tracks with cars, sail cover, 2 Lewmar #40 two speed self tailing winches on cockpit coaming, 1 Lewmar #16 single speed self tailing winch on cabin roof, and 1 Lewmar #7 single speed winch on cabin roof, floatable winch handles, Danforth 1800 two-fluke anchor with 6 foot galvanized chain and 150 foot 5/8 stranded nylon rode, Anchor Buddy lead kedge to to improve anchor holding capability, bow locker for anchor and rode, sealed stowage locker in lazarette for propane tank, teak hatch boards with stowage bag.
There is a Ritchie Poweredamp compass dome on Edson steering pedestal, Standard Horizon VHF with stern mounted antenna, Autohelm radar, Autohelm autopilot, Datamarine S200DL depthsounder, Datamarine wind velocity / direction (not currently working properly), Garmin Portable GPS 478 with helm mount, AM-FM radio with aux. input in cabin

Improvements to the hull, deck, rigging, engine, or interior
Owner has strived to keep this boat in great condition since purchasing in 2007. Upgrades and maintenance items have been accomplished as needed over the years. Winter storage and major maintenance items have been accomplished by Mystic Shipyard and maintenance records are available. Most recently all the standing rigging, the sea water heat exchanger, the domestic hot water heater, and all coolant hoses were replaced. A custom built bimini was added in 2012 to provide a great deal of shade while sailing. A bimini to dodger connector expands the shade and provides rain protection if needed while relaxing in the cockpit.
