General condition and any additional information

This is one of the last Vegas ever made, and is probably the newest Albin Vega for sale in the world at this moment. Headroom in this final generation is taller than any previous hull numbers, at 5 10 in the galley area. Cockpit seating is improved, and the mast-compression issues found in earlier Vegas have been solved.

She is being sold mid-restoration. I personally installed a brand new 14HP BetaMarine diesel engine (built by Kubota), along with new ignition control panel, new throttle control, new exhaust, new prop shaft, new propeller and new seals.

Hull and deck are 100% solid. Albin Vegas have no plywood core in the deck (the core is PVC foam) so there are no rotten decks to worry about.

The gel coat is in very good condition for its age. This Vega lived on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire for her first forty years. Every winter she was hauled out and shrink wrapped. Since then, she has lived in my front yard under a shade cloth, with a dehumidifier in the salon. I have never sailed her.

The trailer is included, ready to hitch up and drive away. We had it custom built specifically for this boat by Sail Trailers, Inc. in Columbus, GA. All the lights work, all the electric brakes work, and all the tires are brand new. This trailer has never been put in the water.

The peeling old headliner in the salon and V berth has been removed, and replaced with strips of varnished marine-grade African mahogany plywood.

All of the leaky old glass windows have been replaced with smoked acrylic, along with the companionway crib boards. The original foam cushions are gone, but we saved the old fabric upholstery so replacements can easily be made.

Three sails are included: a mainsail and a 150 furling jib both in 90% condition, plus one brand new mainsail never used.

All the bottom paint has been stripped. Several seacocks (but not all) have been replaced.

The boat has a hinged mast base, which allows the mast to be raised and lowered without a crane.

*All of the boats wiring has been removed*, along with the old plumbing. A new-in-box MSD portapotty is included, if you decide (as we did) not to reinstall a traditional head. A few key electrical system components (including a schematic diagram of how I planned to wire the boat) are included. The new main breaker box has been installed.

Title and registration are in hand.
